Welcome to the Zagroutha FOT pages
Zagroutha FOT is an association of oriental dancers in the Trondheim area
in Norway (e.g. Mid-Norway).
About Zagroutha FOT
Zagroutha FOT has existed since August 30th 1999.
The word "Zagroutha" is a derivation of the name of the Arabic
women's scream ("Zaghareet" plural form, "Zagharout" singular form).
FOT is an abbreviation of "forening for orientalsk dans i Trondheim"
which means "association of oriental dance in Trondheim".
What do Zagroutha FOT do?
Our main goal is to give information about oriental dance happings
in Middle Norway, and to create a social environment for our
members.
We also arrange special courses and invite a guest dancer
to our parties ("orientalsk aften") and to give a
weekend course once every semester.
About this website
We're sorry for you people surfing by who don't understand
Norwegian, but the rest of these pages on this site will be written
in Norwegian only.
For you who do understand (at least some) Norwegian, you might find

about Zagroutha FOT,
different happenings ("arrangementer") - mainly in the Trondheim area like
drop in classes in the summer and courses
(" kurs") and
"Orientalsk Aften" (Oriental evening - a
party with performances, Arabic disco, basar, café and more),
road
descriptions ("veibeskrivelser") to relevant sites,
some facts about certain aspects of the dance ("Fakta-sider"),
you will find information about some of the dancers ("Dansere") in this area and last, but not least:

huge page with many, many links (" lenker")
geographically sorted (Norway, Nordic countries, Europe,
Australia/Oceania, Asia/Middle East, Africa and America) for dancers,
troupes and other associations, then festivals and magazines, shopping and
miscellaneous. The comments are in Norwegian, but most of the pages are
bilingual.
