INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

A Non-Profit Student Project

International Business (IB) is an annual non-profit project carried out by a group of twelve students attending the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and the Norwegian School of Management (BI), in cooperation with Innovation Norway. Innovation Norway is a governmental agency that promotes nationwide industrial development by contributing towards innovation, internationalization and promotion. The IB project was initiated by Innovation Norway with the purpose of exploring international market opportunities for Norwegian companies. Since the conception in 1984, twelve students have annually carried out the project. In 2009-2010, IB will carry out its 26th research project, this time exploring the market opportunities for Norwegian companies in Mexico.

To Explore Market Opportunities

The main purpose of the IB project is to explore market opportunities in foreign countries. This research will uncover distinct market conditions and the opportunities these can offer. The project will also increase awareness of these markets and provide concrete guidance for creating and improving relationships between Norwegian businesses and international markets.

Presented at a Seminar

The group will develop a report which will give useful and updated information about the market of Mexico. The report will be widely distributed through 500 printed versions and numerous electronic copies. The project partners are given a unique chance to present their companies through advertisements and articles in the report. The report will be presented and handed out at a seminar in the spring of 2010, where expert speakers will hold lectures on important topics regarding the Mexican market and the business opportunities it offers for Norwegian companies.
