It started back in the late 20's and continued through the second world war, but disappeared in the 50's. In 1983 three groups independent of each other sought to revive the dance and tracked down some of the dancers that was there when it all started in Harlem. Steven Mitchell and Erin Stevens found Frankie Manning, "The Jiving Lindy Hoppers" found Mama Lu Parks and "The Rhythem Hot Shots" found Al Minns. If you want a dance that can be incredibly fast paced one moment and sensual and slow the next, Lindy Hop is the dance for you.
